A car built from a kit is a Hot Rod, a restored vehicle also becomes a Hot Rod if the Body Parts differ in size or shape from the originally designed Parts and (or) the Power Train is different from stock.

A Hot Rod may or may not look the same as the original, but it should at least perform better than the original.

In a nutshell… Any car becomes a Hot Rod when any major part (Engine, Transmission, Body Part etc.) is replaced with a part that was not originally designed for that Car and the change alters it’s look and (or) improves it’s Performance.
