Tips For a Clean Car
Wax Your Vehicle
Yes, this is going to require a bunch of "elbow grease", but the effort is well worth it (especially you automatic car wash users). Hand waxing your vehicle is something you should do at least 4 times a year - every season change.
Why? Paint (even if it is clear-coated) will oxidize causing the breakdown of the ingredients or elements in the paint itself. When this happens, your auto's paint finish will peel or crease if clear-coated; or just begin to loose its shine and brilliance.
Waxing your car or truck by hand is the only effective way to prevent the paint from oxidizing. Going through the car wash and selecting the "hot wax" option won't help - there is no short cut to taking care of your vehicle.
Usually the best wax products contain Carnauba in them - before you begin, you must make sure and thoroughly wash and dry your vehicle. DO NOT WAX A DIRTY OR DUSTY CAR - IT IS CALLED GRIT AND IT WILL SCRATCH YOUR PAINT FINISH!
