Tips For a Clean Car

Scrub and Polish Your Wheels

Nothing sets off the beauty of a vehicle like a clean and sparkling set of wheels or hubcaps. And conversely, nothing impacts and detracts from a car than does a set of dirty, filthy wheels. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen a shiny clean car with ugly grimy wheels... Wheels covered with brake dust - you know that rusty brown colored dirt you see - specially on the front wheels.

It used to be that you had to get a brush and really scrub those wheels in order to remove all the filth collected on them from driving. Now, you can purchase wheel and tire cleaner that does all the scrubbing for you - all you do is spray, wait and rinse!

One place often overlooked when cleaning a car or truck is the inside of the fenders or the wheel wells. Everything you have ever driven through is now encrusted in this area and even with the most beautifully cleaned wheels and tires, having dirty grimy wheel wells will detract from them. It is best to use the same spray cleaner you used on your wheels, so go ahead and spray inside all four wheel wells at the same time.

After rinsing off the cleaner, you'll need to apply a tire enhancer/protector on the tires - the sidewalls to be exact. If you purchased it in spray format, just be sure to wipe any over-spray off of the wheels otherwise your freshly cleaned wheels will become dirt magnets. It is also a good idea to take a soft dry cloth and rub it along the lip of the wheel wells to remove any residue from the cleaner.
