86 Monte Carlo LS Pics

ENGINE

• 250 Bored 60.

• Keith Black Pistons.

• High Dome Dart.

• 205 Valve Iron Eagle Heads.

• 525 Lift Comp Cam.

• Aluminum High Flow Water Pump.

• Holley Fuel Pump.

• 10/10 Crank.

• 4 Core Radiator.

• Turbo 400 out of a Dumptruck.

• Shift Kit.

• Edelbrock Carb and Intake.

• Flowtech Headers.

• Chrome and Aluminum all over the Engine.

History:

I had always wanted a Monte LS and I was always fascinated with the gray/black combo I went to go look at an SS and he said he had another but I wouldn't want it because it was trashed. He pointed to where the LS was and I seen gray with black stripes and knew I wanted it right there and then. I paid $800 for it dragged it home, yanked the motor out of my Nova.

Sold the Nova and got the trans in the deal I re-did the burgandy interior in black, threw an old set of cragaR slots on it 15x10 rear 15x7 on front, wrapped them in cooper cobras. I've got maybe $2,000 in the car total including the price of the car. It is friggin quick... I love it !...

It completley quit on me one day. I cranked it, but it kept back firing on me. I thought it had jumped the timing, but the problem was water in the gas (about 50% of water). Drained the gas, filled up with new gas and it fired right up and ran fine.

Also have an 80 El Camino SS. We are also going to redo a 78 Monte Carlo and an 87 Cutlass.

This Picture of the Monte Carlo LS clearly shows that there is some restoration work still left to be done on the outside. The body needs some work and a paint job is definitely in order to bring this beauty back to full "like new" status.
