Here are the 85 Nissan 300ZX Pics, Specs and History

Hi: My name is Jim Deleo from Bolton, Ontario, Canada and here are my 85 Nissan 300ZX Pics, Specs and History.

Here are some of the 85 Nissan 300ZX Specs and Mods:

POWERTRAIN

  • 5 Speed 214,000 km.

  • Always winter stored.

  • Try not to drive it in the rain.

History:

Many years ago, driving buy a small town I saw the car with no plates and an inch of dust on it. Knocked on the door and half an hour latter I was driving the car home.

I would lke to buy another one of these, but much older.

Webmaster's Comments:

1985 Nissan 300ZX - The 300ZX (also called Fairlady Z in Okazaki, a Japanese city) is a sports car that was produced by Nissan. It includes 2 generations (the third and fourth) of the Z car line, with chassis designations respectively Z31 and Z32.

The name 300ZX followed a numerical convention which began with the 240Z, originated by Yutaka Katayama, one of the presidents of Nissan Motors in the US. The "X" designation was added signifying "luxury". The 300ZX name was used in the majority of markets with some exceptions which included the Japanese home market. In Japan, just like previous Z cars and trucks, it was named "Fairlady Z". The best seller of the 300ZX's was the Z31, with more than 100,000 sales over the Z32.

The Z31 as well as the Z32 featured a 3.1 litre, V6 naturally aspirated and with single (the Z31) or twin (the Z32) turbocharged engine. Even though both motors share the same Nissan VG engine, the horse power of the Z32’s VG30DE as well as the VG30DETT engine is higher than that of the Z31. The VG30DE also has a double overhead cam with variable timing where the older VG30E has a single overhead cam design.
