74 Unimog Pics

Here are some of the 1974 Unimog Specs and History:

The owner has not provided any Specs or History of this vehicle. However, below are some facts regarding this all terrain vehicle. I actually drove some of these when I served in the army between 1970 and 1972.

History:

Unimogs have ground clearances greater than any Humvee. This is made possible by portal gears that allow the axles and transmission to be higher than the wheels' centers. Unimogs also feature a flexible frame that allows the wheels a wide range of vertical movement to allow them to comfortably drive over extremely uneven terrain. Their driving cabs are extremely high to provide the best possible view of the terrain ahead and around.

The newest models can be changed from left to right-hand drive in the field to enable the driver to operate the vehicle sitting on either side of the truck. But these vehicles are not only for "all terrain" driving, they're also capable of highway speeds, so they can be driven on any road or highway as well.

	This is a Front Corner view of a 1974 Unimog. This is a very versatile Army Truck. As it is in this Picture, it can be used as a transport truck. In case it rains, a cover can be put over the cargo area to protect the goods. Click on it to enlarge.
This is a Picture of a Rear Corner of a 74 Unimog. This Truck is very versatile... To transport troops in a war zone, the cargo area top and sides can be removed and a set of wood seats (similar to park benches) can be mounted to the flat bed. Click on it to enlarge.
	This is a 74 Unimog Side Picture. The extremely high ground clearance of this Truck can be seen on this Pic. Besides the versatility of the cargo area, the cabin can also be modified. The cover and side windows can be removed and the windshield can be folded forward to drape over the "hood". Click on it to enlarge.
