"I checked out your site, it is awesome, I am very pleased with the way you presented my TA. My TA is on a few sites, but it is not presented as well as in yours. Thank you very much for the excellent presentation."

72 Camaro RS Pics

Here are the 72 Camaro RS Pics, Specs and History

Hi: My name is Scott from St. Louis, Missouri, United States and here are my 72 Camaro RS Pics, Specs and History.

Here are some of the 72 Camaro RS Specs and Mods:

  • Mojave Gold with a standard Black interior... Numbers matching.

  • 350 small block with 2 bbl. carb originally (now has Edelbrock intake with Holley 4 bbl.).

  • TH350 Tranny .

  • Front disc brakes.

  • Factory A/C.

  • Factory gauge package.

  • Console.

  • Rear Defroster.

  • Factory gauge package.

  • Factory front and rear spoilers.

  • Factory positraction differential.

  • HD cooling, factory dual exhaust.

  • Rare factory space saver spare kit (original tire and unused inflator).

History:

My parents bought this car brand new and brought me (a brand new bouncing baby boy) home from the hospital in it.  Back in 1972, my dad ordered an RS/Z28 from the local Chevy dealer.  He went to get insurance and found that they couldn't afford it.  He went back to the Chevy dealer and cancelled the Z28 and ordered just a plain RS 350 with sway bars, spoilers, positraction, etc.  He tried to order all the equipment that a Z28 had.  Basically my Camaro has everything but the solid-lifter 350 and badging.

My dad did all his own repairs and I remember frequently "helping" him (He ran out of expletives when "we" replaced the timing chain/gears).  Now, MY son (8 yrs. old) and I work on it together, occasionally with his Grandpa.

I'm going to try a vintage Trans-Am racing series feel only streetable and without the numbers. I plan on installing a complete LS1/Tremec T56 6-speed, tubular front A-arms with rack-and-pinion steering and Eibach springs, complete Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners, later-model bucket seats (with the matching rear seats), polyurethane bushings throughout, Minilite-style 16 inch wheels, and anything else that I can think of.
