67 Corvair Monza Pics

Here are some of the 67 Corvair Monza Specs and Mods:

• 110 6 Cyl.

• Air Cooled.

• Rear Engine.

• Automatic.

History:

Purchased 3 years ago. 48,000 original miles. 1 1/2 years to restore. All parts replaced with either NOS parts or repro parts. New paint, carpet, windshield, carbs, exhaust, mufflers, gas tank, mats, sound system, shocks, wheels, tires and new wood steering wheel. Many engine parts re-chromed. Front brakes converted to disc. 13" wheels and tires upgraded to 14".

Something that happened during restoration :

I was removing the rust from and repainting the heater cover, which is under the front carpet. When putting it back in, I used a few new screws that were 1/8" longer than the original screws. About 5 minutes later, I get a strong smell of gas in the garage. I look under the car and gas is dripping from the gas tank! Well, the gas tank is in the front on Corvairs, and one of the screws punctured the top of the tank. Never thought about it and never would have figured the tank would be right up against the floorboard. Had to have the car towed, and the gas tank repaired. Won't ever do that again!

Working on restoring a 1974 Chevy Nova coupe.

	Great Picture of the Corvair Monza... This beauty looks like it just came out of the showroom. Extremelly well done restoration. Obviously the wheels have been upgraded, but the new wheels look great on this Car. The front brakes have also been upgraded from the original drum brakes to disc brakes. Engine picture of the Corvair Monza. Just like the outside of the car, the engine looks as new as when this Car left the showroom. The engine on these cars were in the rear and the gas tank and the "trunk" were in the front. Read what happened to the gas tank when the owner used 1/8" longer screws to put the heater cover back. 	Picture of the Corvair Monza Rear. Another great picture of this beauty. Again it is no doubt that this car was nicely restored. There are a couple of things worth mentioning because they seem out of place for a north american car. The slots on the engine compartment lid and the openings below the bumper.
