Hi: My name is Marty Pickering from Bolingbrook, IL, United States and these are my 55 Plymouth Belvedere Pics, Specs and History.
Specs:
Powerflow Six, 230 cid engine.
Powerflite 2 speed transmission.
Sport Coupe trim.
Rare to find a Powerflow six in Black and Red and a Sport Coupe... Very few survived until today. Normally you can find a Hyfire V-8, which is still a rare site.
History:
This car was purchased new in 1955 by my father's Aunt and Uncle. After they were done using this car they passed it to my father as they had no children. About 1 year ago I finally took ownership from my father as I am in the Military and needed a place to keep it.
Currently working on it to restore to original glory, but this car will be driven, not a trailer queen. Great car that turns lots of heads, don't see one of these at car shows much, do ya?
About the only thing in this car's history is that it never saw the rain, unless caught out in it. My dads Aunt and Uncle kept it in their garage and did not drive it when the weather was bad.
The last time his Aunt drove it, she backed out of the garage and as she was turning, she clipped the drivers side fender and bumper on a telephone pole. It had to be repaired with new fender and replaced bumper. After that the car passed to my father who had the repairs completed and now I will continue the family tradition. Oh yeah, I am also the Third Generation Soldier to own this car.
